Elegance was Ann’s middle name and it was often accompanied by ‘pink’. 

Ann would regularly drop into San Carlos or Harvey Nicks in Manchester, dressed predominantly in her favourite colour – pink nails, pink lipstick, pink outfit, pink shoes, pink bag and, sometimes pink in her hair!  Looking fantastic she would perch herself on a bar stool, look around to see if anyone rich and famous was there- (once we saw David Beckham), then order the ritual fizz and a light lunch. Next stop was Kendals to see what the clothes and jewellery departments had: they were like magnets to her.  Quite often she would disappear on her expeditions but we always knew where to find her – around the designer pink clothes!  Never a dull moment and by the end of an exhausting shopping trip, Ann was busily planning where she might wear her new purchases.
