Ann was a very smart and elegant lady with an amazing dress sense. She had a great sense of humour - always a smile on her face and eyes that twinkled. Ann was such fun to be with - she loved our shopping trips and the mandatory lunch and wine and was always dressed to the nines! Walking down Deansgate towards Kendals, heads turned when Ann approached.

One day I'll never forget was when a smartly-dressed man noticed Ann passing by and called out "OMG, a vision in f****** pink!" He was still there when we came out and walked back up Deansgate next to us. Ann and I dived into the Living Room for lunch and we had a giggle over a glass of wine!

As Lady Captain of Rochdale Golf Club in 2001, Ann was very conscientious and graced the role, giving an excellent performance as Snow White in the Ladies' Christmas pantomime that year.

Ann was a wonderful cook. Her pastry was amazing! Every year at Christmas I attempted to make mince pies. One year, Ann tasted one, insisted I throw them all away and from then on made all our mince pies every year!

What a wonderful friend! Richard and I and all the family will always remember Ann with great fondness.
